I was riding a bicycle along Van Brunt Street early in the morning. When everything became dark and quiet, I started seeing places I had never noticed before. Of course, I knew they had always been there. But quiet places were most prominent when everything else was silent. It felt like I was zipping through the neighborhood in a negative film.
